Come be creative under the Armory canopy along the beauty of the Assabet River! Join local artists Karen Nunley and Christina Giza as you paint flowers of the season using oil pastels. All materials are provided. Take home your creation plus a set of oil pastels! No experience or "talent" required.
Join us at the Armory on the Assabet for a summer series of Art Classes, running June through August.
These classes welcome both children and adults to explore creativity across a range of mediums in a supportive, hands-on environment.
Our first class is Saturday, June 20 from 10:00 a.m. to noon. In this introduction to oil pastels class, you will be inspired by two local artists and create your own vibrant floral painting. Class size is limited to 15 participants and registration will open in May.
A drawing class for children and adults will be offered with dates in June and July. Inspired by Betty Edwards’ Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, you will discover how to hunt for hidden edges, flip drawings upside down, and watch your sketches explode from wobbly symbols to realistic masterpieces! Registration will open in late May.
Whether you're trying something new or building on existing skills, these sessions provide an opportunity to create, learn, and connect.
